Bailey Brosamer
Bailey Brosamer is a trumpet player, composer, arranger, and producer based in Boston and the Bay Area. Throughout their childhood, there was constant exposure to the sounds of the Great American Songbook and the many sounds of Big Band Jazz. Bailey was given the opportunity to perform with concert and jazz bands throughout middle and high school, where they learned their love for the instrument and the jazz tradition.
In their high school jazz band, they were lucky to commune with a diverse selection of interests in music, including Latin Jazz, Pop, World Music, Rhythm and Blues, Hip Hop, and more. With those connections, a love for composition and production grew with their deep passion for music. At Berklee, Bailey was given the opportunity to study arranging and meet many people that have a similar fervor to create music in the same tradition. Bailey is currently working on his first personal project "Suite for Small Group," to be performed in fall 2024, as well as several arrangements to be entered in competitions in the next year. As an active member of the International Society of Jazz Composers and Arrangers and the International Trumpet Guild, Bailey stays up to date with innovations in the industry as an avid pedagogue.
They believe deeply that cooperative creation is the key to unlocking the artistic capabilities of the individual, so they are always searching to expand their mind and work with new artists. Recently, they have performed with the jazz fusion dectet Nick and the Travelers, who made their live debut in 2024 and have recorded an album to be released in the next year.
Bailey is also the second trumpet in the New Jazz Orchestra, a big band which has performed at a variety of occasions throughout the Boston area, including a show at Warehouse XI featuring the Sam Fierke Quartet and the Trio of Peace, a show at the Lilypad entitled "Swing Smackdown," featuring many of the directors' compositions, and a show at the debut Boston Progressive Jazz Festival alongside groups such as Ali Tahir's Thicc Orchestra, Ebba Dankel, NMQ, and Voodoo Baby Aliens.
